A Coach with 25 Years of Scientific Expertise

I have a PhD in molecular biology and for more than 25 years, as an epigeneticist, I dedicated my work to deciphering the mechanisms of cellular differentiation, a magical process leading to the creation of a fully functioning life form from a single cell.

In simple terms, epigenetics is the study of how our genes can be turned on or off by external factors, including environmental factors such as diet and lifestyle and how these changes can affect our health.

Addressing Chronic Inflammation and Cancer Through Nutrition

For a large part of my career, I have worked on chronic inflammation and cancer, two topics highly significant in the field of nutrition.

Chronic inflammation is linked to various health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. Nutrition plays a crucial role in either promoting or reducing inflammation in the body.

Nutrition is also closely associated with the prevention and management of cancer. Research suggests that certain dietary patterns and specific nutrients can influence cancer risk. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight through proper nutrition and regular physical activity is crucial in reducing the risk of cancer. For individuals already diagnosed with cancer, proper nutrition can support treatment effectiveness, enhance quality of life, and improve overall outcomes.

Advocating for an Independent Approach, Prioritizing Rigorous, Evidence-Based Methodology

I made the choice not to be a registered dietetician. Today, obesity has become a global health crisis, contributing to a rise in chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers.

While numerous factors contribute to the rise in obesity and diet-related diseases, it’s evident that ineffective public health policies and complacency toward the agri-food industry play significant roles. In response, I advocate for an independent approach to nutritional advice, prioritizing a rigorous, evidence-based methodology. By remaining unbiased and scientifically grounded, I aim to provide individuals with trustworthy guidance to navigate the complexities of nutrition and make informed choices about their health.

Today, I offer my scientific expertise in the form of coaching and nutritional advice to all those who wish to improve their health through better eating habits.

A coaching method which does not stress our body

One of the key elements, allowing the infinitely complex transformation to be completed without damaging anomalies, is called homeostasis. This is the ability of a system to adjust its internal environment to maintain a state of dynamic constancy.

To understand how stability is important for a cell to thrive, to be aware that this cell is the fundamental constituent of what we are, make you realise that we have the responsibility to provide regularly to our organism the proper nutrients, these nutrients being the product of the food we ingest every day.

Stability is antagonistic to stress, to drastic and time limited changes to, for example, quickly lose weight before bikini time.

A coaching method to adopt a healthier diet while still enjoying the pleasures of eating

Even if French are believed to have a healthier lifestyle due to their traditional diet, which is often referred to as the “French paradox”, French food is often associated with ingredients, high in saturated fats such as butter, cheese, and wine, which may be seen as indulgent in other cultures.

Each individual has unique needs and preferences, and it’s important to consider a variety of healthy dietary approaches when promoting healthy eating habits.

Through my coaching, I am dedicated to helping clients achieve their own health goals.

The one aspect of this French paradox that I translate into my coaching philosophy is the fact that the French diet emphasizes the enjoyment of food, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and portion control.

This is an approach that should be appealing to anyone looking to make healthier food choices while maintaining a positive relationship with food.

A coaching method to feel well over the long term

Here in Bread and Better, we do not propose hypocaloric diets to lose weight quickly, at the risk of developing frustrations and entering the vicious circle of yo-yo dieting. We aim to guide people toward healthy habits they will be able to adopt in the long run.
